International Revenue Needs
a Repeatable Compliance System.

A freelancer, a 12-person agency and a SaaS company may all receive overseas payments, but their contracts, billing models, staff, software spend, GST position and bank documentation can differ materially. We help service exporters connect contracts, invoices, GST, foreign remittances, accounting and recurring reporting into one workable process.

Choose Your Export Model

Software / IT Services Agency

Client contracts, project invoices, subcontractors, export-of-services conditions, LUT and remittance evidence.

Marketing / Recruitment / Design Agency

Service classification, place of supply, intermediary-related risk, overseas client contracts, foreign vendor payments and TDS analysis.

SaaS / Subscription Business

Subscription model, customer location, platform fees, payment gateway, refunds, product vs service classification and revenue recognition.

B2B Consultant / Professional Firm

Contract scope, customer location, invoicing, GST classification, overseas withholding and payment documentation.

Scaling Exporter With Team or Multiple Locations

Books, monthly MIS, contractor TDS, GST reconciliation, export declarations/bank workflow and accumulated input tax credit review.

The Export Question Is More Than "Client Is Foreign"

Export Conditions Need the Full Fact Pattern

For GST export-of-services treatment, review the statutory conditions, supplier and recipient, place of supply, currency/consideration and establishment/branch facts. A foreign address alone does not establish export treatment. Some agency arrangements need careful review of whether the supplier acts on its own account or falls within an intermediary-related analysis.

LUT and Refund Workflow

Verify registration and transaction model, assess zero-rated treatment and file or renew LUT where applicable before relying on it. Then issue invoices with appropriate particulars, maintain contract and remittance records, reconcile GST returns and books and assess input tax credit eligibility and refund route. Refund availability depends on statutory conditions, eligible credits and documentation; never assume it is guaranteed.

Export Declarations and AD-Bank Follow-Up

Distinguish the export declaration obligation (EDF/EDPMS) from the AD bank's closure workflow and from GST compliance. These rules and processes change, so the current RBI regulations and your specific bank's process need checking before relying on an older article.

Overseas Software, Cloud, Advertising and Subcontractor Payments

Payments to foreign suppliers such as SaaS vendors, cloud providers, advertising platforms and overseas contractors can require classification and withholding-tax analysis under the law applicable to the year, including treaty documentation and any relevant exclusions/reliefs. Not every foreign software invoice requires withholding, and not every one is exempt either.

Monthly sales, invoice and bank reconciliation
GST return preparation/review and LUT calendar, if in scope
Export invoice/remittance tracker and bank-query register
Foreign vendor payment/TDS review under a defined scope
Monthly finance pack: receipts, outstanding invoices, tax credits, compliance actions and unresolved issues
Quarterly review of refund eligibility, entity structure and process gaps

Common Mistakes

Treating every foreign customer as an export of services.
Using an old LUT or invoice template without reviewing the current year and transaction type.
Assuming FIRC/FIRA or a bank advice is identical for every payment provider and bank workflow.
Confusing GST export compliance with FEMA/AD-bank export declaration closure.
Applying one intermediary analysis to every agency or referral contract.
Paying overseas vendors without documenting the nature of payment and withholding analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every exporter need GST registration and LUT?
The answer depends on the business, supply, turnover, transaction and applicable rules. Exporters seeking zero-rated treatment/refund should obtain a fact-specific review.
Are all foreign-client services exports?
No. The statutory conditions and actual contract/service model must be checked.
Can a SaaS company claim an accumulated ITC refund?
Potentially, subject to the applicable refund route, eligible credit, output supplies and statutory conditions.
Does every payment to foreign software providers require TDS?
Not automatically. Review payment character, recipient, treaty, use and applicable law for the year.
How should EDF/EDPMS obligations be handled?
Confirm the current RBI requirements and the AD bank's process for the specific transaction. This is a time-sensitive area that needs rechecking, not a fixed rule.
